Let’s go for a drive and see the Fall Foilage says the Admiral.
Sure I say. Where shall we go.

Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts.

So that’s where I am. I watched the sailing on the Charles on Thursday evening.
Boarded the Constitution

and today checked out the Portland Head Light and a Lobsterman as he heads out of the harbor.

Love Portland , Maine.. Wife and I visited there back in 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were lucky that one of the forum members invited us out for a sail; we spent a fine day sailing around the bay and seeing the sights.. Quite a change from sailing on the Gulf Coast..

Today is overcast. There was a strong wind 20 plus gusts as we drove into Maine. Learned at breakfast that leaves and tree damage near Freeport. I’m sharing a bench in the hunting area with several guys. We are beached, while the Admiral browses the racks and shelves of L.L.Bean. It looks to be a long and expensive day.

Looking at the water yesterday the difference was very clear. Yesterday was a good sailing day. Several boats were out reaching along the coast. The winds were from the west so the first mile out was nearly flat water.

If you have time, visit Acadia National Park. Beautiful scenery & you can even stop in Bar Harbor & spend more $$ in the tourist shops & have lobster at one of the diners.

We were in Bar Harbor summer of 2023, had Lobster Rolls with blueberry Margaritas at Paddy's Irish Pub, it was my first $100 lunch for two.

My lobster at Abbots was $23 plus tax. Iced tea under $3. In the East, either in New England or Florida, lunch with drinks, + tip with knock up towards $100.

Our season is just opening, I'll insert image if possible. Friday coming in the harbor I was passed by a guy with a swordfish on his swimstep, don't see them often although I think there is still 10 commercial license boats in the harbor.
