I have a beneteau 331 and have noticed about 3 inches of water under the refrigerator The water then spills out of the return vent for the air-condition This water is coming from the air-condition condensation drip hose that is only 2 feet long and collects under the refrigerator This area under refrigerator has no access to drain into the bilge We have about 4 of the same make and models in our marina and all of them have the same problem and all of them are factory installed air-condition I need to find a fix for this problem I have got no response from beneteau on this I would like to move this drip hose to a place with access to the bilge Troy Wargo

Install a condenserator

Hi Troy, I not familiar with the Beneteau installation and I'm not sure I completely understand what you are saying. It sounds like what you are saying is that the condensate overflows under the evaporator for the air conditioning and there is no condensate drain or no way for it to get to the bilge. Is this something that happens when you run your air conditioner? If so there is an easy fix if your A/C uses seawater through the condenser. It is called a Condenserator. It is a venturi device that you put in line with the outlet water that is being pumped through your air conditioner and it makes a vacuum as the water flows through it. You attach a small tube to it from the condensate drain and it pumps the condensate overboard automatically. I recently installed this on my boat and it works great! You can get it from Mermaid in Ft. Myers FL. Check the link to Mermaid if this is what you need. It is $85 and comes with all materials to install. This is a better solution than to let it go in the bilge as then the bilge pump must run to get rid of it. Hope this helps.

pump

It should be no problem if you can extend the hose as long as it can drain by gravity. Also, there are small condensate pumps in the residential air conditioning industry. They have a sump, float switch, and pump that can pump to the bilge. They are 110 volt, ac units but so are your air conditioning units.

Wayne's got it right.

Use a condensator from Mermaid. Simple installation, it just T's into your current output hose. A small plastic hose with a filter connects to the pan. You may have to fabricate a connection to the pan overflow if it is a different size than the Mermaid. The overflow tube on a Mermaid is about 5/16" OD I think.
