would like to know from any owners of a 19ft. 93 Hunter, how they like the boat, and any thoughts that they may have. We have rented sunfish. This would be our first boat, for husband, wife and two teenagers.
As a WB 19 sailor or nearly 5 years, I can report that it is a fine craft for two big people and that's about it. I have taken three adults out, but would not want to make a regular habit of it. The cockpit become very crowded and sleeping would be too much. I would suggest you take a good look at the 23.5's for the elbow room necessary for four people and the few extra thousand dollars would be well spent if you are considering an older craft.
I agree with the previous post. I had a H19 and loved it. It was my first "large" boat. It sailed great and was a good size for two adults. I kept the boat for a year and then traded up to a H240. I would suggest that with a family of four, you look hard at doing the same. Should be able to find a used 240 for a reasonable price. The 240 sails eaisly, and gives lots of room.Enjoy and good luck!Daniel, S/V Endeavors
