The space will handle two 6 gal tanks of the right size. I bought two metal tempo tanks and modified the aluminum fitting and bent the flange on the bottoms. They fit inside of one side without modifying any fiberglass. On the website www.macgregor26x.com, if you search to forum, you will find reference to a 6 gal plastic tank of the correct size. Two tanks will fit on one side without overhang or modification. The tempo 6 gal will overhang. It is much easier carrying a six gallon tank than a larger. I believe that they were called 6 gal OMC duratanks. One can put 2 per side and have a capacity of 24 gal.
