Where my boat is moored happens to fall in what seems to be a slot in the landscape that channels wind across the mooring field. In consequence, you can observe that the boats moored in the slot sail around quite a bit more than others on their moorings. None really seem to sail about quite as much as mine though. I thought about asking to have my mooring moved, but the field is getting pretty crowded and my Wife likes the view of the Boston skyline from where we are now. I am more concerned about wear and the safety of my boat of course, than her having a pretty view the two times a year she actually comes to to boat.

Has anyone else noticed a tendency for their 9.2 to sail around on the mooring?

Bob,
We have had a blast with our boat on mooring. It does seem to be one of the first boats affected by whatever force starts the harbor wide movement. Same when at anchor. At 30 feet we are usually one of the smaller boats nearby, that may have something to do with it...

Well I don't have my boat in the water yet, but next Spring I will have a mooring on Muskegon Lake in Michigan. I will let you know then, however I suspect with her increased windage my 9.2/c might "sail" around her mooring worse than yours!

I'll let you know next season.......
