I'm in the process of installing a boom kicker on my 9.2A. The fitting for the mast is supposed to fit in the mast luff track but it stops at the boom. the slot in mast has an aluminum strip in it that begins under the boom and ends at the deck. Has anyone installed a boom kicker on 9.2?

9.2 mast luff track

I'm not familiar with your specific boat but have installed Boomkickers on my last two boats. Is the strip that you mention removable or is it part of the mast extrusion? Can you post a photo of the area below the boom? The manufacturer has a library of installation information specific to certain boats. This information was submitted to the manufacturer by boat owners and compiled over the years. If we don't come up with a solution, try to contact Boomkicker as they may have a fix to your specific issue.

Call the boom kicker people and ask them for a bracket to fit your mast. If you had gone with the Garhauer Rigid Vang they would have fabricated a bracket for you. Perhaps boomkicker will too. Use a length of solder to imprint the shape of your mast, then use the shaped solder to trace the form to paper. The machinist can use this tracing as a guide for his fabrication.
