9.2 prop pitch

My 9.2c with 3gm30 Yanmar has a 14 x 9 3 blade prop. I can over rev it and only reach a little over 5 knots at 3400 rpm. I should be able to reach about 7 knots under power and reach 5 at a lower rpm. The prop should be larger or re pitched. What prop is everyone else running?

I have a 16 x 9 RH but with a 14hp 2 blade Yanmar 2QM15. Props are engine / transmission specific, but the pitch seems to be in the ball park. I suggest you ask a prop manufacturer for what they recommend. I can hit 5.5 knots with half your HP at 3200 rpm.

the original prop on my 9.2a was a 15/9... 2 blade rh .......i have no idea what speed it would run but a fellow in va said he had the same on his.....
bob do you have a yanmar tach on your controll panel or is it after market

Don't know. It is the original panel, so I am guessing its Yanmar if they didn't buy them elsewhere. I am finally going to cover her tomorrow, so I'll try to remember to look at it.
