'86 h31 prop? rpm?

my h31 cruises at 6.5 @3000rpm. I can sail her at 8.0(no kidding)in 15 knot winds. Should I be able to motor at 8 with a diff. prop? If so what size and pitch???Thank's, Steve

Sounds about right

I have an '85 H31 and my numbers under power match yours.From everythng I have read, any more prop would overload the motor, although maybe a 3-blade might use the power more efficiently.I sail @ 8 knots in 10-15 knots of wind also -- according to my knotmeter. However, my GPS indicates no more than 7.4 kts over ground. Of course, I sail on a flat lake too, so theres no hills to go down ;-)Duane
