Hi Al,I have a 76h30 which i removed all the glass off the rudder and reglassed it. It had a rock hard core and I spoke to you and you suggested it was a thickened resin putty core. I could find no foam in my rudder. Anyway, it has been doing fine thus far (2 years), and will inspect it more closely in about another year at my next haulout. Thanks for you help and what I'm sure will be a great forum. I think there needs to be more information available on the subject of rudder repair or rebuild.Royce

Hi, Thanks for your nice note. What year is your boat? We began making rudders for Hunter in late 1978. If your boat was before that time it may have been a putty rudder (resin with filler). When I get caught up with my replies I will post an article on rudder repair. It sounds like you did a good job. Thanks again,Al WalkerFoss Foam
