'75 Mariner 2 2 - Jib sheet tracks

I've been told that the jib sheet tracks should be placed from ten to twelve degrees off of boat centerline for best control and optimum efficiency. In the process of adding fairleads and camcleats for the new halyards that will be routed to the cockpit, I find that there is some crowding at the top of the companionway. I'd like to move the jib sheet tracks outboard either to the side of the cabin or to the deck alongside the cabin. Will this seriously affect the jib performance? Should I consider placing the halyards outboard instead of the jib sheet tracks?

I would consider routing other lines if you can.
