'68 Daysailor rudder

I have a 1968 Daysailor and the rudder is gone. I need a replacement but I'm trying to get one without having to purchase new if I can. Are there any other rudders that will work or is anyone out there looking to get rid of one I may purchase? $430 for a new one means I won't be on the water again until probably Aug or Sept and I may go crazy before then. Please help! Thanks.

look around the used marine dealers, and go look at new boats with that size rudders, then go home and make one out of exterior plywood until you can get a 'good' one. any used rudder you find that has fittings about where yours are can be made to work, or move the fittings to fit. am sure somebody here can send you a sketch with measurements....
