Does anyone know where to find a PROFESSIONAL MARINER 60 amp charger for a 1990 Pearson 37

60 amp charger

The used equipment companies are full of these chargers because those that were not used as anchors are sitting there collecting dust. These ferro-resonant chargers were a great contributer to electrolysis and have only a single stage charge program. Most have been replaced with a three or four stage solid state charger that is much better for the batteries. You do not need a 60 amp charger unless you have batteries of about 600 amp/hours. Get one that is about 20 percent of the amp/hours of your batteries (i.e. if you have two 100 AH batteries get a 30 or 40 amp charger). The engine alternator on your Yanmar is a 55 amp unit and only puts out about 40 amps so your shore power charger needs only to match that.

Professional Mariner Battery charger

I just read the article in reference to the replacement of this unit. I am presently experiencing an electrolysis problem. Can anyone recommend a replacement charger. This is on a 1990 Pearson 37, charging 5 AGM 27 batteries., thanks

Pro Mariner Charger

You will have luck finding a Pro Mariner on EBAY. The Flyback series are great units. I had my batteries last 7-8 years with these 3 stage units.
