Still getting used to the convenience of having LPG vs. the alcohol stove on my old LP 1967 Cal 30. Would like to get a second tank our Hunter 326 but having bit of trouble locating one. Also I am wondering will there be an issue and getting my existing 4 lb tank filled as it is a 2002 model. We've had the boat now since late August and it really appears to be fuel efficient as compared to our old alcohol stove.

I bought a new 4 lb tank this year at Home Depot. They had to order it so I had to wait a day.

What are the required dimensions? I love the 1960's Cal 30! Great sailing boat. Vertical or horizontal? Steel or aluminum?
We have a 4.5 gallon, steel, vertical, 12-3/16 x 18 inches.

Walmart online also has them...but if SBO can get it, use them!
you only get 12 years before a reinspection is required, so you probably can't get your current tank refilled

You can have the tank re-certified, its good for 5 years, it just a visual inspection. Find a propane distributor or even some barbecue places can do the inspection. Just had 2 tanks done for $10 each.

Our Cal was a great boat to cruise, fast too. Is this the Dave that has been helping us outfit our 2002 Hunter 356 -- new cockpit cushions, companionway doors, led lights etc? Hats off to you and all the SBO staff!

If it doesn't have a OPD valve a propane distributor like Suburban Propane can install one and inspect it all at once.
