450 Marine Radio: anyone have one?

Does anybody with a 450 have an SSB or ham radio installed? I have read some of the posts for other models, but I'm interested in learning from anybody's experience specifically regarding the 450 before I take the plunge. Aerial and ground are the issues. If you post a reply to this, I'd really appreciate a copy by email, as I have 4,800 baud email access via satphone, so don't often get a chance to log on to HOW. Thanks!

SSB on 450

Hi: I have a 450 which I bought new last October. I had copper mesh glassed into the hull and have a 23’ whip antenna on the stern. I have an Icom SSB and it works great. I can contact Sailmail on both coasts from the Bahamas most of the day and night. John Van Stone
