Anyone have davits on their 430? Seems to be a real challenge to have them.

Check www.vru.com/ocean/hsd40.html I will soon be taking delivery of a 420, and intend to use these davits. Used them on my last boat (a Morgan 43), and was very pleased. They are now much improved over those that I put on that boat in '93. I further supported those davits with rod supports to pad eyes on each stern quarter and intend to do the same with these . Anyone else tried these on their Hunter?

Stephen, I just added davits to my 430 and couldn't be happier. We went "south" for the long weekend, and for the first time, launching and retrieving the dingy was a breeze. No having to muscle the motor onto a bracket etc. The ones I have were designed and built by Ocean Marine in Canada. Mike is a great guy to work with, and couldn't have been more cooperative and helpful. Depending on the size of your dingy (mine is eight feet), and because of the fairly extreme beam of the 430, we had to do some "engineering" (had to add a bar) to make it work, but I couldn't be happier. They've made several for the 430, so this is nothing new for them. Quality is excellent. If you need more, E-mail me at SAILBURG@AOL.COM Pete

Does Ocean Marine have an E-mail address? We've been looking and havent seen any on the west coast that were acceptable. You sound lke you hit a pot of gold for 430 owners. Thanks Dick McKee SV Constellation

Dick, Ocean Marine Systems' internet address is: http://www.vru.com/ocean. But the owner, Mike Thomas, is really helpful, and can be reached at: 1-800 883-2848. He has some good literature he'll be glad to send to you. If you need, more, just ask. Good luck
