hello all.... is there suppose to be a cover for these? I have looked at a handful of 423 and all have exposed wires on deck at the front of mast. Would seem logical to have a cover for both protection from sun and water and aesthetics....

No cover that I have seen. My 323 has the same configuration, though not as many wires.
The appearance could be cleaned up by bundling the wires in flexible plastic conduit like that used in automobile engine compartments. Just don't combine VHF with other wiring in the same bundle (keep 12v wire by itself). As for the VHF coax (or is that a TV antenna?) consider a through deck connector rather than one lying in the trough in front of the mast.

No cover, but you need to clean that work up. Splices, connectors and excess wire should be inside the boat. There is an access panel below next to the compression post where it stows.

I redid that mess to where it runs all inside the mast and glassed and gel coated the old holes. Send me an email address and I'll send you a picture.
