I recently changed out the 2" exhaust hose on our boat and it wasn't a bad job. Not saying yours will be as easy.
- do the job on a warm day as the hose will be more pliable.
- use the old hose to pull a sturdy nylon cord through the course to act as a fish line.
- keep cutting off the old hose in short lengths for ease of placement after removing. Use a fine tooth hack saw for the internal wire.
- heat the new hose with a hair dryer for jamming on to fittings. It doesn't expand much with the internal wire but softens the rubber just enough to fit.
- use SuperLube on fittings if the heat doesn't work. Don't worry about slipping off under the double clamps. A bulldozer couldn't get them apart with the clamps tight.
Good luck. You can expect you salty vocabulary to expand by about 100% on this job.
