410 Main Saloon Light Cluster

On my 410 there is a cluster of three small recessed lights over the table in the saloon. I replaced the bulbs with LEDs but would like more light in that area. Has anyone come up with a fixture or fixtures that has replaced these three lights with more lumens?

Compare the output and quality of your LED's with those of Marinebeam.

https://store.marinebeam.com/

I recently replaced our halogens with LED's from Marinebeam and found they bordered on being too bright in one location. I don't know if your three light cluster is the same as ours but the replacements we used are more than sufficient.

After spending years, dicking around with a sample of every new and improved LED that's been reported on this site and other sites (and I've got a box full collecting dust), I can honestly say that Marinebeam is a major improvement in both quality and quantity of light.

Thanks for the info on Marinebeam. I checked out their bulbs but they do not publish lumen output. I sent them a note and will share what I find.

I have "standard" bulbs in my tri main light and feel it is pretty bright. You sure it isn't best just to to go back? The power use for a couple of hours is minor in the big picture to me.

Good point Don. I am still going to look for LEDs with higher lumen output. I just searched the web again and found several but I need to check out more details on the bulbs. I will report what I find.

Odd ..........................

I checked out their bulbs but they do not publish lumen output..
...................... they publish a complete set of technical specs on every bulb they sell which includes lumen output. Check the detail section of the bulb and not the quick overview. One of the things that first interested me in Marinebulbs was their technical literature on LED's. Real or not, more than anyone else puts out.

Yes I found the data. I am still researching other bulbs as Marinebulbs at $20 each are very expensive.

You get what you pay for. I'm a big fan of marine beam.
Gotta agree with Uncledom.

I'm sure if you search long enough, you can find LED's for a fraction the price of Marinebeam ............ blue colour, radio interference, no voltage fluctuation tolerance, premature dimming, short life and other undesirables .

Here is some data.

DH Gate: G4 245 MD LED, 240-288 Lumens, 12V (no indication of max voltage), no wattage indicated, $6.27 each

LED Leightsworld.com: HK-G4-12SMD 5630-X, 200-250 lumens, 8-30V DC (have to let them know when you order you need this voltage range or they will ship 12V unit), 2.9 watts, $11.50 each plus $8.95 flat rate shipping

Lily LEDs: G4 9x5639, 200 lumens, 10-30 V DC, 1.9 watts, $8.50 each with $25 min order, $11.00 shipping

Marinebeam: G4 12 LED Force 12, 170 lumens, 10-30 V DC, $20 each, $6.95 shipping

Hero LEDs: LB-SG4-9T-12V, 200 lumens, 10-30V DC, 1.8 watts, $4.64 each but have to order 5 = $23.20. Shipping Free

G4 LEDs.com: G4-12-30A, 240-264 lumens, 10-30V DC, 2 watts, $2.86 each, shipping $10.00

COMMENTS:
All of the companies except Marinebeam are China based. I am not sure where Marinebeam's bulbs are actually made. The company is located in South Carolina.

I ordered bulbs from Hero and G4LEDs.
I will report my results after I receive and install the new bulbs. I would like to have one of the Marinebeams to compare since others have indicated good success with them but I will wait and see how the ones I ordered work first.

To Ralph's point above I currently have first edition China LEDs that cost about $2 each and are rated at 10-30V. I have never had any problems with voltage tolerance, dimming, etc. So I anticipate no problems with the new LEDs I will be trying out.

I have same on my H 430. Face facts tho...
1) 12vdc = low lumens
2) Lumens at surface, to light, depends on fixture and number of lights.
3) LED do produce more Lumens, bluer light and at lower power (watts)
4) LED lights may not be better for your type of fixture which diffuses the light to spread a design area.

Since I didn't have much use for these light, except eating or general use, I added portable, rechargeable, remote control LED beam lights.

That was a mouth full.:D

That was the (at the time a joke) order I gave the Admiral for shopping.

OMG she found some!!! White color even!

I will take a picture and send the Label info, but we mounted them with a tiny piece of white velcro to allow easy removable and motion stabilization.

I will ask her for more info.

But...
My point is you need additional lights.:)
