I just tried to purchase a 40hp mercury 4 stroke with power trim and tilt, but when it came in it didn't fit. It was a bolt on, and the transom was too short. So I would like to know what anyone else has, and their thoughts and recommendations.
You could have a transom plate made of marine grade aluminum. Then bolt it onto the boats transom. A spacer plate between the transom and the transom plate would give a gap if it’s needed to set the motors correct height.
