3YM PresurePlates??

My yard has spent hours tracking down a "squeel" like sound when under forward load at 22k rpm only. We have been though all the possibles and long shots like belts, water pump, alternator, cutlass. Engine alone is just fine. The yard mechanic and his boss recken its pressure plates...I have warranty time...engine only 200hrs. Ideas?

Correct amount and type lubricant in the transmission? Pressure plate transmission or cone clutch?

I assume the 22k rpm is a typo - 22oo rpm? Mechanics who work on transmissions in boats tell me that the pressure plate will make a clatter sound but only at low rpm (as when shifting between neutral and gear) so I suspect your problem lies elsewhere.

2200 rpm...and it is not a clatter so I am more than a bit concerned with the yard expertise....

interesting.. may be related to an alignment problem that causes a prop shaft resonance at that RPM..

always follow your instinct. It's impossible to accurately diagnose the problem via the internet but I can be pretty certain the yard folks where you are don't know much about transmissions
