I know, I know, this subject has been flogged to death but I need to make an informed decision. After finishing my engine room revamp, I decided to look closely at the motor mounts since I noticed the engine shake more than I would expect it. So after a complete visual inspection with adequate light, I found that my motor mounts had pretty much melted away. I believe these are originals.

I have read many postings on motor mounts and I am more informed although confused.

Some claim Yanmar mounts are the only thing to use.
Some claim that the front MM are different from the rear MM
Some claim that right side are different from left side to counter engine torque.
Some claim they are all 4 different.
Some hate the Bushings, Inc units and some have no problems with it.

I like the price of the Bushings Inc MM. They basically have the same footprint as the originals. i have found 2 models that would work. The DF100 and the DF 2207-2. They both carry the same weight capacity, just that the DF100 is lower profile than the other.
If any of you have used these units, which one you chose and how did it work out. Any advise is welcomed.

3QM engine mounts

Don't know much about the 3QM mounts, but for the 3GM, the mounts are different front and back.. (some confusion comes from that fact) The mounts have a code on them, embossed in the rubber, that gives the load rating in kilograms .. for instance, the 3GMF has the front mounts each rated at 100 KG and the aft mounts each rated at 75 kg.. The mounts are a little special in that they have a lot more stiffness in the fore and aft direction than in the other directions.. Again, I don't know exactly what was used on the QM .. (A quick look at the QM manual shows that the mounts are the same front and back and are round and not oblong like the GM series mounts.. )

Same with the 3YM30 mounts, different front to back. But they are different from my original 2QM20 mounts, second picture right after I pulled the engine. Don't remember the markings on those.

If you get the Yanmar replacments you will not need to worry about any of these issues.

My understanding is that the damping on the Yanmar mounts is quite different from the aftermarket ones. I would suggest that you go with the Yanmar mounts. It may cost a little more up front, but may pay off in the long run (especially if you bet wrong).
