Does anyone know the manufacturer of the in-mast furling system for a 2003 393 built in S. Carolina? More specifically, I need a new track endcap and delrin bearings as my fore endcap broke, the car came off the track and the bearings went in the drink. I checked SysElios, US Spars and Neil Pryde. No luck there. If you know the manufacturer I can order new parts. Also, any recommendations on re-installing the car without having to disconnect the boom from the mast to remove the track? A friend suggested using Edge shave gel to hold the delrin bearings in place. Someone else suggested buying a short (6") piece of T-track, then sliding the car onto the boom track after inserting the bearings. Sounds good but I don't know where to buy such a short piece of track. Any help is appreciated.

Short track

I replaced mine (OC281)and the manufacturer (US Spars) sent a piece of modified track with the car on it. The track was cut so that after removing the end cap on the boom track, the modified piece sat flush on the boom and you simply slide the car onto the real track. If you are planning on replacing the bearings yourself, good luck. They are pretty expensive and I'm not sure how you would hold them in place. The new car w/ bearings and modified track was not terribly expensive although yours will be bigger and therefore cost more. I'm surprised that it's not a US Spars unit. I thought they provided all the in-mast furlers for Beneteau USA. Good Luck

Beneteau

I know it sounds like the same old story - "Try Beneteau" - but I learned from my local rigger when trying to get some schaefer mast base blocks - that Beneteau often modifies / customizes what appear to be fairly standard items from schaefer, lewmar and others - so that they can capture the replacement market - The good news is that Beneteau always seems to have what I need - at fair prices - and they ship quickly through the local Beneteau dealer - good luck
