I need to replace a masthead sheave from RigRite and would like to confirm with others that the mast on our 37C is indeed a 5280 Kenyon spar before I order parts. Thanks a bundle for your help.

I can confirm that on my H37c the mast is a 5280. But get ready to pay big $ for the parts you are looking for. Since those parts have being laying on a shelves forever, their price have increased quite a bit.

I would advise sourcing the sheave ANYWHERE but at Rig-Rite, who apparently claim to have stock for these things and then charge prices as though they are having the part you ask for custom-made for your order (as they did with my Kenyon 3650 mast step, which I had made instead). A sheave is a sheave is a sheave. See Schaefer, Ronstan, and others who stock these parts. And bear in mind-- slightly smaller, by 1/4" or so on the OD, is not going to hurt anything. And the ID can be sleeved with a bushing, as I did on mine.

Measure the old one and go looking.

Diana is right, take you old one out, try to find something that would fit from another compagny. Worst case scenario, ask a quote from Rig-Rite (you'll have to find a fax, emails are a little too technological for them right now). If the price seems fair, go ahead (unless you are in Canada, when I ordered my mast step I specified very clearly any shipping method but UPS and they still shipped by UPS and ended up paying close to 100$ in shipping/brokerage/customs). If the price doesn't seems faire and you aven't found anything elsewhere, take your old sheave to your local machine shop and promote your local economy (you may be surprised by how cheap it's gonna be if you are there at the right time and friendly enough).
