Hi....I am looking to possibly purchase a 1984 37 CT. I have been looking extensively for an 'escape vessel' to cruise on for quite some time and never really considered this model. Can any one tell me more about it, what to look for in pre purchase, ups, downs etc?
Appreciate all your help and time in advance.
Thanks.

I have little to no knowledge about the 37CT. With any boat purchase I would defer the boat's integrity to a reputable and certified marine surveyor to provide me with a value grade. I did that with our first and current boat, which both were given very high value and integrity marks.

IMHO Hunter boats are quality built and if the model in question meets your other needs I say go for it. There are other considerations that most marine surveyors normally do not look at such as rigging, propulsion system, ground tackle, sails, etc. If the engine has more than 5,000 hours, a rebuild may be due. Likewise for the other systems; original, new?

Perhaps someone else can give you more specifics regarding the 37CT. The users on this site normally have already provided their comments relative to their satisfaction. Have you checked them out?

One of the forums under the Hunter heading is 'The Cherubini Hunters'. This is where you will find the best info available on these boats.
From my own experience I can tell you that they are extremely seaworthy blue water boats.
