Can anyone help me with a original Cdi furling system on my 322. It has a what appears to be a halyard that is connected to the top of the grooved foil about a foot done from the top but it won't budge. I will take pics and call Cdi but thought maybe someone could shed some light on this. I am new to furlers

I have an 1987 O'Day 322 that had the original CDI furling system with an internal halyard that I replaced a few months ago with a profurl r350 system. The original furler was difficult to get the sail in when the wind was above 10 kts and I would have to use the winch on it most of the time. I think the pressed bearing in the drum did not work with any tension on the luff which was set by the block system on the unit and not usually adjustable while in use. The new system works great and I can easily furl the sail in any wind speed with out leaving the cockpit or using the winch. The new systems can be pricey but they will pay off in the long term with more enjoyable sailing and less wear and tear on you and your sail.
