2 Oceanis 321 Fort Lauderdale
Hi There,

We are learning our Oceanis 321 and enjoying spending our weekends sailing along the south Florida coast.
We are having an issue some of you may have experienced. Our boat now starts on the third or fourth try which is not such a big deal, however, when we are docking and put her into neutral, she stalls! This has caused a bit of panic since we have to put her into reverse to stop her. We are able to get her to restart after about 30 seconds. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

Its possible that you may just have to adjust the idle speed a bit so that you idle at a slightly higher rpm.

If you have not already done so, I would suggest changing your fuel filters. Remember that there are possibly two of them. A racor or similar water separting filter remotely mounted near the engine as well as a smaller filter in the fuel line near the front of the engine.

On our 321, we had the same starting problem. Fixed it by running a solid wire from the starter button to the starter solenoid. Too many wire connectors in the stock wiring design. Have not had the problem since.

Not sure about the stalling. Is the idle set OK? I think our idle is about 800 RPM.
