I am wanting to install air conditioning in my 1998 Oceanis 321. It has never had it so I am starting from scratch so to speak. Would like to know where it has been installed on others 321's. Pictures would be tremendous help. Just hauled out down in SW Florida so now would be the time to do this.

Hello Wesleymi, I am in the process of purchasing a 321 with no A/C and already planning on installing one. I too am looking for photos. It looks like many have been installed in the sail locker under the lazerette. Did you ever complete you A/C installation?

Sorry I did not. I had the boat moved to Michigan and there is not much call for air on the great lakes.

Thank you for your quick reply! I live in Estero Fl and I hope to get my fiancé into Dry Tortugas excisions on a 321. I just know that without an A/C it might be difficult. Lol. it’s been hard to find photos or drawings online, as you probably encountered as well. Thanks again!

We slip in Tawas and have AC on our 321 which was installed (presumably) when it existed on the Chesapeake. Fresh water intake is under the starboard aft cabin (valve, filter, 580gpm pump). All of the primary components are installed at the forward end of the port cockpit locker. The main vent being above to the right of the fridge. Secondary vent is installed in the aft cabin. Agree in MI it's not a necessity, but it certainly is a luxury and gives us some peace of mind when leaving the doggos on board when we go into town.

Only grief... the condensation from the condenser coils fills a drip pan which is routed to the forward end of the bilge by the bilge pump pickup. This makes it literally impossible to have a dry bilge with the AC on.

Thank you dmdiehl64 for the input, it is much appreciated. I am closing on the 321 tomorrow and get the keys! I am so excited!! I will have to immediately move her from her slip at the St Pete municipal as they don’t allow transfers. I have another question for you. Is the intake air vent in the aft cabin?

If you install a condensate on the water discharge line you will have a dry bilge. I have had one on my 311 and my 331 for years and NEVER had ANY water in my bilge.

Sorry for the delay. The intake is below and slightly offset of the main cabin supply (above the fridge). The aft cabin also has a supply, but smaller than the main cabin.
