311 Electric Windlass

I have just bought a 2001 Beneteau 311 and am thinking of adding an electric anchor windlass. Does anybody have any tips regarding models/mounting arrangements and general advice/

I just installed a Lewmar Horizon 900G on my 323. The 311 should be a simular installation. It took about a day and works great.  The 600 might be big enough for you. I selected the 900 because my anchor is a little bigger than I need, 39 lbs. If you decide to install one yourself, let me know and I can send some pictures and where I located the wiring etc.Sail On...Terry

Electric Windlass

Hi Terrypictures would be great- when I talked to a local chandlery-he mentioned another similar boat had to install a shelf in the anchor locker to mount the windlass on- to get it to drop over the deep enough part- thanks Scott
