Catalina is showing a Y Valve on their diagram for the holding tank and thru hull. Well I can not find one in the Catalina 310 2002 I just bought. Anybody knows if there is one?

310 Y valve, or not...

I just bought a 310 as well and also searched all over the boat for that 'Y' valve that Catalina illustrates on the diagram. My boat is a 2003 model and that 'Y' valve is not installed on it. I'm curious if they just don't put the 'Y' valve on the boats that are built for inland waters.

Missing? Y valve

By gosh, you're right! My 2000' manual shows a Y valve on the plumbing diagram, with one hose leading to the holding tank, through the macerator, and out the seacock. The other hose goes straight to it's own seacock. I've never seen the second hose or seacock. It's interesting that the manual's written text instructions do not refer to the Y valve either. Step three under the title "THE HEAD" says, "Waste will be pumped directly into the holding tank when the bowl is emptied." But I guess I'll have to take another look when I'm there next time anyway.

Dealer?

I don't know about yours, but I doubt mine would have a clue!

Why do I need a 'Y' valve anyway?

Stu, Yes I have had a conversation with my dealer about the missing 'Y' valve. They were unaware of the situation, but it was no surprise to them. It doesn't bother me that the 'Y' valve is not installed on my boat. I don't have any use for it anyway. Even if I used my boat off shore cruising I can still use the holding tank and then use the macerator pump to discharge the waste overboard. I don't see the advantage of having that 'Y' valve. Please correct me if there is some corruption in my logic.
