I'm thinking of doing the Racine Yacht Club's Hook Race in the summer of 2010 and before I fill out and submit my LM PHRF certificate application, I would like to find out what rating other Catalina 309 owners have received.
My 309 is a 2008 with a wing keel and a 3 bladed fixed prop with the Catalina stock mainsail and stock 155% (?? not sure) genoa and a stock Catalina spinnaker with a launching sock (since often it is just my wife and I as crew). I also have a bimini and dodger.
NOTE: We winter in Tucson, AZ and my boat is in Waukegan, IL and I have none of the Catalina manual or boat specs with me and will not have access to them until late April.
I do not have any of the stock (?) measurement data with me and I am wondering if there is a kind soul out there who has recently applied for a 309 PHRF certificate who would be willing to share it with me for comparison purposes. I have never applied for a PHRF certificate. Do they accept manufacturers data? On the application, they ask for the source of the reported dimentions: Owner and Certified Measurer are mentioned but not manufacturer.
I will greatly and thankfull appreciate all the help I can get since this is the first time I've ever thought about racing my own boat.
Cheers and good sailing, David Thiessen
