306 vs 310, need opinion

I hope I am not rehashing a previous topic and your comments are appreciated. I am currently looking at 2 hunters, a 1998 310 and a 2005 306.
I have previously sailed a 310 and like the boat. I am trying to decide between the 2 and would like to ask if any owners have sailed both and can make a comparison on how they sail. The 306 seems to be a light displacement at 7150 lbs and a SA of approx. 350 SF vs the 310 at 8500 lbs with a SA of approx. 450 SF. Big difference in displacement with only 10" difference in length. Any comments are welcome. Thanks

290/306

I did own a 2001 290 and it was pretty much same as 306 and loved the
boat except rear berth was very small and so low we would need to crawl into it and so we used it for storage and did sleep in the roomy vee berth.
The boat sailed very well and also motored very well and very easy to sail.
We decided to go bigger and almost purchased a Hunter 33 but last minute at a boat show my wife said no to the 33 and yes to our 2007 H-36 which we love as we live west coast Fl. and retired,we sailed the 290 for about 5 years and loved it but like our H-36 with many more options.
