I have successfully installed a 30 gallon holding tank in our '93 355. Just wanted to mention it in case you're considering a tank change. Very similar process to what's been posted by Jim Rushing (thanks Jim!), except the tank is longer and extends over the curvature of the bottom of port side hull. It's also narrower so no "platform" is required, although a sloped support is needed between the curved hull and the angled portion on the bottom of the tank. Ronco B189, $210 delivered to Florida.
Legend for pictures:
1. Trial fit of tank in space. Whew. Just makes it. Note: opening is much smaller than tank length.
2. Platform made to fit curved port hull and support bottom of tank where it slopes up. It is sitting on an oak table for picture.
3. View from port stern locker. Note the "stringer" fore/aft that is attached to bulkheads that the tank ramp/platform is attached to. Besides screws through bulkhead and into liner, everything was 5200'd in place.
4. Tank with fittings going into opening.
5. View from port stern locker with tank in place.
6. Replacement panel. Teak for 1x3 frame was hard to find, and expensive. Color matched paint for plywood later for perfect final match. Used T-nuts in existing panel to machine screw panel in place, for easy removal.
7. Platform/ramp support as viewed from what will be port side of boat.
8. Platform/ramp support in place as viewed from access hatch prior to tank installation.
