In late January Elan a Beneteau 37 sailed in the SF race. Check out SAIL mag. page 10 and 11 this month. We were in the double handed Spin class 111-159 rating. A total of 350 boats participated. What a blast, you SF bay sailors should get ready for next year it is a great way to start the new year! The SSS (Singlehanded Sailing Society) organizes this race. I would like to see more Beneteaus become members. Next Race is The Corrinthian 3-25-17. Still time to get in on the fun!

Hey, did that race too!
We made a few miscalculations and ended up stuck in a hole behind Treasure Island.
Finished but kinda brought up the rear. Next year!

I saw you out there. We went against the fleet, it was hard to start going the "wrong way" because we had to weave in and out around some of the starters. We saw most of the boats in mid bay and thought we were way behind. When we finally made the Red Rock the current picked us up and we flew though racoon straights and then to the Golden Gate. We ended up with a good finish and were surprised to see the fleet coming at us at the finish. What a great day, the rain stopped and the sun was great!

its a great race and bucket list one for all Bay Area racers, small boat are favored in the normally light winter conditions unless a storm brings on the wind to make a bigger boat fast enough plus only 1-2 crew allowed.
