2qm 15 water pump

I just rebuilt the water pump on my 2qm 15. I may get another year or so but the shaft had some wear where the water seal contacts it. Yanmar wants 320.00 for this pump, thats a little steep for a simple raw water pump. Mine has no numbers that I can find. I dont think it is a Sherwood, Johnson, or Jabsco so I assume it is Yanmars pump. I saw in the archives where Mike Knight used a Sherwood pump on his 2qm15. I assume he did some fabrication work but I couldnt get in contact with him to find out. If anyone has info on what the original pump is or an alternative pump that can be used I would appretiate hearing from you. Thanks Kevin Hostler

Belt-driven pump?

The external belt-driven pump on my 2QM20 is a Jabsco. But it might be an add-on as the heat exchanger appears not to be Hunter or Yanmar original. I get my impellers from Torresen, it is smaller than the internal pump. They might know what you have, they are very knowledgeable and very helpful via phone or e-mail.
