Thinking of having a second reef point put in the mainsail of my '95 H26 over the winter. Would appreciate any advice on exactly where on the sail it should go and are there choices to be made? Can local sail loft do the work or am I better off going back to Doyle? Thanks for any and all advice.

2nd Reef Point

I have some notes to myself that indicate the 2nd reef point should be 3' above the first. I think I orignally took those notes from info on this forum. As for who should do the work, any decent sail loft can do it. Pretty simple stuff. Regards - The Other Ron

sail slugs

asumming you have sail slugs for the luff of the sail, make sure you pick a point where you don't have to drop the slugs out of the track to reef, otherwise you will be adding alot of unnessesary effert to the process. Jeff

Done that

Had a second reef added by SailCare and made a sleeved storm jib from SailRite. Sailed this summer in steady 23-26k winds nice and flat at 5-6k. Well worth it.
