Here is a weird one. After running my engine (2GM20F) for about 4 hours flawlessly at 2800 this weekend, when pulling into the slip it kept stalling when i throttled down to 1000-1500 rpm. It would give a knock knock and then just quit. Starts right back up if i rev the throttle. Any ideas? All new filters/oil change just last week. Thanks Ed

Low speed stall

There may be other reasons but the most common one for hot engines to stall is fuel that is too volatile. Too much alcohol based additive or possibly a dash of gasoline in the fuel tank. This causes the cylinder to fire earlier than with the properly formulated diesel fuel.
