2GM20F Raw Water Zincs

I recently bought a 1987-31 and when I looked for zincs in the raw water system I could'nt find any. I have consulted several manuals on the engine and they were no help!

Jerry:There are no engine zincs required on the 2GM20F (fresh water cooled). Just the one on the shaft. Check out the archives on the subject.

check the archives- lots of boats use shaft "zincs" made out of a magnesium alloy in freshwater

Engine Zincs

Also went through the same drill on our '87 H31. Drove myself nuts trying to find it. I finally queried our former local H31 guru, Tim Leighton, who told me that this engine does not have an engine mounted zinc despite what the Yanmar manual says.
