2gm Yanmar that won't idle down

I have a 2gm that I can't get to idle below 1100 rpms. That makes it tough to enter port at a safe speed. any advice will be greatly appreciated! Dan Illusions

Check the linkage on the engine and in the adjustments on the cable. You may have gotten a kink in your cable.

Tim, Whenever I try to throtle down to either decrese speed or to shift the engine stalls. It dosen't matter if the engine is under a load or not. It just won't run under 1100 rpm. I removed the exhust elbow first. I'm stumped... Dan
