Hello all,Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the 290 and the 306? Where any enhancements of changes made or was it simply renamed?Just curious...looking into buying one.Ed
I beleive that it is the same hull size, shape etc. Same interior layout. The 306 has the Kevlar keel enhancement and the interior is the upgraded hardware, etc. We have a 290 for sale in the bay area. Cost equipped similarly our 290 is about 30K less and only 11 months old. Bought a 356.So, some construction differences, but same boat, more money.Dan Jonas (S/V Feije)
I have a 2001 290 (for sale). The boats are almost identical. There are a few very minor cosmetic changes. Primarily:The 306 has interior teak that has a shiny finish where the 290 has a more traditional oiled look appearance. The 306 ice box has an air shock to hold the lid up. I wonder if the slip fees will be higher for the 306 versus the 290?
I just took ownership of a 2001 290 every thing is the same except some extra teak instead of plastic in the salon and some other area's little bit different head liner with teak grab rails ,some other minor things and other than that it is the same boat , I checked both boats and saved a lot of money buying my 290 with lots of extra's in it that you don't get with a new boat, mine is like new one year old and I got a great deal so save yourself some money and look at some 290 , the new boats are great me and my wife love the 356 and 326 so well wait a few years and buy a 356 or 326
We have enjoyed this boat for almost a year. This is our first sailboat. She sails and motors well. The interior is clean and bright and affords privacy with the doored staterooms. The boat looks large but slip fees and maintenance are affordable. My wife likes to cook and is looking for a slightly larger galley. She is in love with the new Catalina 350. I'd be happy with a late 80's Hunter 34, but I've got to keep my sailing partner happy. 67K.
