Hello folk: I recently lost the track (while sailing)to my bimini that holds the top to the arch. Its the plastic track that slides into the arch and then zips to the aft bimini top to keep it in place. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement part for this crucial part of the top? Thanks a bunch and I love my new Hunter 290! Mike

Who made bimini

Is your bimini from the factory, because my bimini on my 290 2001 does not have any track for the bimini,it was made in a local canvas shop not from hunter factory. My bimini is held on to the arch with snaps and rap around the rear pipe with a zipper. nick

Question Response

Thanks for the question Nick. I believe that my bimini was installed at the factory. There are two parts to the bimini. Once before the arch and one behind the arch. The one behind has a plastic slide that fits into a track on top of the arch. There is a piece of fabric attaced to the slide that also has a zipper on it. (or half of one) and that piece of fabric zips to the aft bimini top to make it waterproof. Any idea on where I could get a replacement? Thanks. Mike

Clarifying response.

Hey Nick: I couldn't open the picture you posted. How is your zipper attached? For mine, I have snaps on the side of the arch, and a zipper that runs the length of the arch. Half the zipper is on the aft top, and the other matching half is attached to this track I speak of. Without the track, you can attach the top with the snaps on the side, but then you have a big hole along the length of the arch without the zippered track. Any ideas? Mike

290 Bimini Replacement

You can order the part from the company that makes the top. If yours is like mine, it has the name and phone number of the company on the bottom rear of the top. If yours doesn't have it, let me know and I will get the information off mine next weekend.

Thanks Nick and Don

Hi Guys: I appreciate the feedback that both of you gave me. In the end, I just called Hunter and they are MAKING ME ONE. How great is that? I asked them if they knew where I could get a replacement part. They said "No", but then said that "they could make me one". What great service! Not only that, but they said that it would only cost me $35 bucks, and that it would ship in a few days. Now I know why Hunter is the best Marine company. What great service! Thanks for your help! Happy Sailing!
