What marine air unit works best in the 29.5 and how is it installed?

Recommend Mermaid.

For a given output rating like 12K the Mermaid seems the most compact. The 16K is only slightly larger. A standard cardboard box(11"x17") cut down to a height of 12" makes a perfect template. You can then go 'round and find a good locker or cabinet. Mermaid is in Fla. and very nice people to work with. I bought mine through Defender. I'm sure some 29.5 owners will tell you where they installed theirs.

Agree with Ed

I recently replaced the original Mermaid (10 years old). The new one had the same footprint, and is thermostatically controlled. You can order direct from them. I received my unit 2 days after calling. Plumbing is simple, although a through-hull is necessary. They are located in Ft. Meyers, FL.
