bimini

You can find a bimini in the HOW chandlery. I just bought a 6 ft long, 54 inch high, 84 inch wide bimini for my H30. It has Sunbrella top in a color that matches my deck and sailcover. It has 7/8 aluminum tubing which is fine for fresh water. Bought it from Overton's for less than $320. I am making the modifications for the split backstay instead of paying a canvas shop for another $30. Materials came from Sailrite. You can get a DIY kit from them. Add a dot com to any of the names mentioned to find their web site.

Ameriseam

AMERISEAM, (813) 854-1128, 13801 W HILLSBOROUGH AVE TAMPA, FL 33635 I believe they were the supplier for Hunter. It's a two part system because of the end boom traveller. We have the aft bimini and are very happy with it. They are very well made. Monty

Now this is a bimini

I think the bimini you are talking about was the one on our boat (took it off the market). The bimini goes from the boomvang to the mainsheet. I like it because it covers the companionway, shades the cabin, AND provides shade in the cockpit in most cases. the bimini was made by Hunter dealer Rooke Sails. I'll sell you the bimini for a real high price, but it comes with the boat!

Depends on angle of sun

Jim, it covers a large portion of the cockpit whenever the sun is forward. Admittedly it doesn't cover much in a following sun (whether rising or setting) but that is when the sun is less intense. The bimini is wide as well as long so it puts out a lot of shade area. If I coupled it with an aft bimini (like those sold at this website) it would really cover a lot. With the mainsheet in the middle, you have to choose forward, aft, or double!

Another bimini design...

This is low cost, boat wide 100" Bimini design that allows for 74" (or more) hights behind the wheel. In addition on the back side of the dodger along the edge there is zipper allowing for extra sunbrella cloth for full cocpit coverage between dodger and bimini structure. This design assure for very good visbility of the trffic ahead and is "friendly" even for tall folks. Good for any Hunter from 28 to 34 Ft. Jerzy.
