Trying to get the rudder so it does not thump on the mooring. When I took it out I photoed the bushing and ring arrangement. On the top bushing collar there is no spacer, just the tiller head against the bushing collar. With the setup the way it is the rudder touches the hull when the tiller is hard over, in any direction. I am in the process of filling the tube with grease but I don't think that is the answer. Any pictures etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered rudder stops inside the hull? They may be there and need to be adjusted to reduce the swing.
