I am planning on installing a mermaid air conditioner on my 85 28.5. Was wondering if anyone has done this and could give me any pointers on location of unit and ducts, and anything I should avoid or be aware of. I am also wondering if I could "T" off an existing thru hull for the water supply (dont want to put any more holes in hull than needed). Thanks in advance for the help, Don

Doing the same.

I have a Hunter 28 and I am doing the same. I am installing a Cool Mate 5000, but same difference. The location will be inthe aft cabin locker. This way I can easily duct to the rear and forward above the galley. My purpose is to keek the interior cool and dry in the hot FL summer months, so total comfort is not as much of a factor as I don't live aboard. I have not actually made the installation of the unit as of yet, however I did have the thru hull installed. The company, who manufactures the unit said that I have to use a differnt thru hull becasue if I didn't the A/C unit could potentialy become airbound regualay. I am interested to see what others post here. Once I have isntalled mine, I'll post my successes. TMM
