Has anyone had any experience fixing the forward hatch over the v-berth if the hinge is more or less broken? Is there any way to fix the hinge without replacing the entire hatch? I saw at DRMarine that they have a replacement hatch for a little over $300, but I wonder if there is an easier way... Thanks in advance for any thoughts. DR Marine says that this hatch was used on O'day 192,222,240,26,& 272.

I was hoping that might work, but I would need to drill out the plastic pin that has broken off inside... I'll plan to give it a try..

the hatch was open when the headsail was out (kids like the breeze...) - must have caught while coming about. sigh... the unfortunate part is that in order to put a pin in there, i would have to drill. on both outer sides, the plastic is sealed. You would think that a pin would go right through the two smaller nubs and through the long narrow piece as well, and i imagine it does, but it only goes part way through each of the smaller pieces, not all the way through - so the pin does not poke out on the ends, and i am therefore not able to punch it through... it's as if it was factory made to be a hinge, but not made in any way that the hinge could be replaced or fixed...
