I stumbled across a 27' 1980 Hunter in pretty good shape and don't know much about pricing these things. They want 10,500 with a solid engine. Any advice would be great!!

I sold mine for $14.5k

I sold my 1980 H27 last year for $14,500.00. If it is in good shape, go for it. The H27 is a good starter boat. Fair winds. Steve, s/v The Odyssey (H310)

Good price if boat's in good condition

$10,500 sounds like a good price if the boat's in good condition. We're very satisfied with our 1983 H-27. This is our second season with Dilemma. She's a nice sized boat. Comfortable enough to stay aboard a few days at a time but not too intimidating when we approach the dock. Doesn't require deck apes to handle the sails. Paul

looks good

I gave 9000.00 for my 81 27 last year and i live in NC but I bought a trailer and moved from NY my self. The boat was in good shape all I had to do is put bottom paint on and splashed her. It came with a cradle and I sat her down on the trailer and brought her home. The boat sounds like a good deal. I love the my 27.

Good price

Just bought one in April for 10,500, and it was in excellent cond, and owners were great to do business with. Found it on HOW classifieds here... Best thing was the Bigger Yanmar (2GM) engine... Good luck!

What's the mfg of your aux. pwr???

If it's a fairyman or renault NO, if it's a Yanmar, Yes, if it's a westerbek ok, what ever it is you'll have to live with it, the Yanmar though noisy and lots of vibration, is also the most reliable little engine around.
