I AM NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE BOAT TO TRY THIS , SO I WILL ASK A STUPID QUESTION.I HAVE SEEN THIS DONE ON THIS SITE AND IT APPEARS THAT MMODIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE SO THE TABLE CAN BE LOWERED INTO A BERTH. ON A 2002 260 HUNTER WILL THE TABLE DROP DOWN TO MAKE A BED IF YOU REMOVE THE PIN OR DOES THIS REQUIRE MODIFICATIONS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE TABLE. DROPPING THE TABLE DOWN IN LIEU OF UP SEEMS TO MAKE A GREAT BERTH. HOW IS REMOVING THE PIN A SIMPLE TASK? THANK YOU ESK II

Depends if yours is a keel model or a centerboarder

ESK, I have a 260 not a 26, so what I am about to tell you is valid for a 260, and what I think is true for the 26, but should be verifed by otheres that do have a 26. If your boat is a centerboard model, and the table is the original and has not been modified, then it will not drop down to make a berth. If it is a keel model, then it will drop down. There are many table mods in the photo forum that folks have done to allow the table to be fully lowered on a centerboard model. The "factory" table set up is quite heavy, but the pin comes out easily after you slide the table up a bit. Good luck with your 26! Bert
