greetings, today i put my 260 into san diego bay for the summer. when i left the launch ramp i noticed that the stream of h20 from my suzuki 9.9 was good. i checked it a few times on the way to our summer slip which is about a 2 hour motor (good for charging the battery). when i got to the slip i noticed the stream had stopped, however when i put my finger to the oulet i could feel a jet of warm air being expelled. i had the motor serviced at the begining of last season and replaced the impellor of the h20 pump. the tech said i should be good for at least 2 seasons. i always rinse and flush the motor after every sail. what's going on? any ideas woul be appreciated... fairwinds. dan

Check the impeller

If you ran the engine without seeing water (steam or hot air don't count) coming out for over a minute you probably have bad rubber / plastic water impeller. The impeller will destroy itself and then destroy the pump housing (if plastic) if you do not have water flow. Check for blockage of the water inlet.

thanks Ed

i checked with the suzuki dealer, and he had me check the h20 outlet. seems it was blocked and forcing the h20 out the bottom. all is well now . thanks again.
