I am finding that with my 260 I have to constantly tend the traveler to let the main in and out. I am wondering if other 260 owners find this to be the case or is it possible to get the 260 well trimmed and balanced so that you don't have to make so many alterations. Thanks, Darren

Overpowered?

Darren, You didn't mention if you're having to trim to overcome rounding up. If this is the case you may be overpowered. I find on my H26 that at about 12-15kts I have to reef or I can't keep her from rounding. Remember that on this boat the main is comparatively huge due to the larger roach. If you're having problems in lighter winds you may want to check your mast rake. Good luck, Jim

darren, sounds like your over powered.

When I start constantly using more than a foot of main sheet to control the boat I then go through a progression of adjustments to get the boat under control. First I trim the sails, using down haul, outhaul etc to get the draft as flat and forward as possible. If that doesnt work then I move the main traveler down from center a few inches, trying not to compromise my pointability to much. Usually the combination of these two works but if not I reef the main. Ted
