We currently own a hunter 23.5 and are thinking about moving up to a larger waterballast boat with head room. Can anyone tell me the differences (other than the manufacturing date) between a hunter 26 and a hunter 260. Thanks in advance Chris, Pueblo CO.

Details, Details

I own a 96 vintage 26. The two boats are nearly identical. The basic cabin layout is the same. The 26 has a two burner stove, the 260 has a single burner and new lockers above the cooler storage. The 260 incorporates changes that allow the boat to accomodate some big boat features, like they changed the fiberglass pan in the head to permit the installation of a marine head and holding tank and it is also easier to convert the boat to wheel steering. The anchor locker and grounding tackle are also improved on the 260, as the 260 has two bow cleats, and an available anchor roller. The 260 also has a larger water tank instead of collapsable plastic water bottles. All things considered, the 260 is slightly improved over the 26. But it may really boil down to the best deal you can get. Good luck, Mike Pajewski H26 "Loon"
